About BT-NYC
There are beer geeks and there are your Bud Light drinking frat boys. Somewhere in the middle is a world where great beer is appreciated, savored and talked about. That’s where this blog resides and from what I hear when I put my ear down on the railroad tracks, the neighborhood is filling out. More and more people know what IPA stands for, understand a cask beer isn’t going to be ice cold and are willing to put down an extra dollar (or two…or three) for a beer more challenging than cold, wet and fizzy.
There are many better resources to figure out what a beer tastes like and while this blog is comfortable offering its opinion, it’s not the primary purpose of this blog (does anyone else feel like snickering when they read the word blog? It’s like making a mission statement where you say things like, “And without justice, we shall always feel poopy.”)
The purpose of Beer Times NYC is to talk about beer’s many powers. Believe it or not, but beer has the power to bring people together. The power to entertain, distract, connect and make whatever is going on in the world just a little more enjoyable. We at Beer Times NYC recognize beer’s power and want to celebrate it, talk about it and share it with as many people who will listen.
Support your local breweries, tell store owners beer you’d like them to sell and don’t ever be afraid to talk about beer. Genuine individual tastes and experiences almost always find a way to connect.
Keep connecting, people.
The IPA Kid

The IPA Kid was into beer at an early age. The photo is from Zymurgy magazine. The caption reads: "Patrick Hunter Morris, age 1, youngest member of the Cram Hill Brewers of Randolph, Vt., supervises bottling operations and specializes in dreg swilling from anything left within reach. Patrick is a firm advocate of the "relax - don't worry" school of homebrewing.
